- TAWNY PORTS -
Tawny Ports are of two distinct types. The younger is usually called a "fine tawny". The other is called Aged Tawny.
They are blended wines brought to maturity in wood for ten, twenty, thirty, sometimes forty years, depending on
the characteristics of the young wine.
Portal - "One Century of Port" - 10, 20, 30 and 40 Year Old Tawny Ports - Wooden Gift Case
Portal 10 Year Old Tawny Port - This wine is produced mainly from Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca grapes, which are carefully crushed in our old stone tanks (lagares).
Pale amber in colour, this wine has an intense aroma of walnuts and almonds. In the mouth it still shows some ripe fruit flavours
which are well balanced with the ageing flavours of dry fruits.
Portal 20 / 30 / 40 Year Old Tawny Ports - To produce these fabulous wines the grapes are crushed by foot. The wine is then aged in 550 litre
barrels for at least 20, 30 or 40 years, depending on the date of age of the wine.
After bottling, these wines are ready to be enjoyed. Once poured into a glass, you will find an immense complexity of aromas with dry
fruits and figs dominating. In the mouth is a pleasure for the senses!
