- PORT WINE TONGS -
Heat the tongs on the stove or with a propane torch. Clasp the tongs around the neck of your Port wine bottle
and turn it around, gently, without disturbing the wine. Once the glass is evenly heated, remove the tongs
and pass an ice cube around the glass until you will hear a musical crack. Lift off the top of the neck with
a cloth and carefully decant the wine. Cheers!

Portal - 1999 Vintage Port with Port Wine Tongs - Wooden Gift Case
Portal Vintage 1995 - This port, from the very good Douro 1995 harvest has undergone the traditional two years in
cask and is now in bottle and will be ready for drinking in about 10 years time. Production is small and supplies
are already on allocation.
Portal Vintage 1999 - The 1999 was produced in traditional lagares and also in stainless steel tanks.
The wine has a
dense and vibrant red colour and the aroma is reminiscent of cane-sugar and rum from the Caribbean
islands. In the mouth it's soft and buttery with flavours of dark cherries and plums. The finish is fresh and leaves a
taste of very ripe dark grape skins.
Portal Vintage 2004 - This is Quinta do Portal first release of a Single Quinta Vintage Port and they believe it will
be remembered for many, many years.
The best grapes from Quinta do Portal were selected and h
and-p
icked between the 25th and 30th September and this wine
reveals all their potential.

Portal - Vintage Port with Tongs (Vintage 1997 or 2000) - Wooden Gift Case
Portal Vintage 1997 - The Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz grapes used to produce the 1997 Vintage were picked
on the 16th Se
ptember 1997 and then gently crushed in stone lagares. The result is a beautiful dark red wine with lovely
fruit and chocolate aromas. It is full bodied with soft, round tannins. Although still young and therefore quite
closed, it has a very well balanced finish in the mouth.
Portal Vintage 2000 - The Vintage 2000 results from a blend of wines, whose grapes came from the old vines of Quinta dos Muros,
vinified in stone lagares and in stainless-steel fermentation vats. In the lagares acquire a rusticity and an
excellent structure and have complemented this with the aromatic finesse atained in the stainless steel vats.
It's dark ruby in colour with predominance of some floral aromas. Full-bodied, it has lively but round tannins and
a lush, lingering finish.
Portal Vintage 2003- TWhen the time arrived to declare Portals 2003 Vintage Port it was decided to declare also a small
but amazing lot of wine. For the first time Portal released the Portal + Vintage Port along with their classic 2003.
The big difference between the two wines is that the Touriga Nacional grapes that enter in the Portal + come from 8
year old vineyards. The result is a more sophisticated wine and also more approachable than the classic 2003.
